Paramount and developer Saber Interactive reminded us today that a video game based on World War Z — the movie, that is — is coming to PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One later this year. A new trailer for World War Z offers a glimpse at gameplay, which appears to substantially consist of mowing down hundreds of zombies. World War Z Aftermath Re-Release Adds New Content For Current-Gen And PC Players My personal favorite addition in Aftermath, though, is the addition of an optional first-person mode, which breathes new life into every aspect of World War Z. Getting up close and personal with the flesh parades you square off against adds a whole new level of panic from behind the eyes of your character. As an FPS fan, I felt right at home taking on the horrors of the apocalypse this way, and it gave me another reason to go back and replay World War Z’s older episodes.
When you first boot up World War Z, there are various menu options to start your experience. The game is split into two areas: Campaign and Online Multiplayer. Within the campaign options, you can select to go at it alone in the offline mode or jump in to play the story with three other partners. This was actually one of my favorite parts to the game, even down to the way in which you unlock new weapon upgrades and abilities for specific character classes in-game. Our Editors Recommend There's a mix of male and female characters of different races, but these don't have an impact on the gameplay since you're simply trying to survive the hordes of zombies.
